A small (growing only to 2cm high) creeping plant with unusual kidney- shaped flowers made up of 5 white or lilac -shaded petals. Unmistakable, with it's offset petals making it appear as if one petal is missing. Leaves are round, succulent, and dark green. Likely to be found in moist damp areas like coastal greens and around fresh water ponds. Flowers from December to February.

Common on East and West Falklands, also found on neighbouring Fuegia and Andean Patagonia.
